DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL: The castle needs reconstruction, the site could be used for recreation purposes with spa facilities or as a twilight home.
PROJECT LOCATION:
The Mándl Castle is located in the town of Nagyatád, 1,5 km far from the downtown, nearby an artificial lake (15 ha), with the possibility of boating. To the south-north of the site the famous sculpture park of Nagyatád can be found, hosting summer camps of artists.
The town of Nagyatád can be found in the neighbourhood of Hungarys southern frontier – 60 km far from the Croatian border, ca 55 km to the south of Lake Balaton, and ca. 150 km far from the Hungarian-Austrian borderstation (Rábafüzes). The city can be reached within 2,5 hours by car from Budapest. The next international airport receiving charters every day is located in Sármellék, about 50 km far from the city.
The city counts 30.000 inhabitants including the neighbourhood villages, Nagyatád itself has ca. 13.000 inhabitants.
Nagyatád is internationally famous for its good thermal water, it has two public Thermal Baths, one of them operating all the year.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The castle was built at the beginning of the 30‟s by earl Mándl. The family crest can still be found above the entrance of the castle. The castle is surrounded by a nice park alike an “English Garden”. The neighbourhood plots make further development possible.
There are very few castles with such ideal circumstances like the Mándl Castle has:

As a result of the current development being in process two further buildings, the so-called “ATRIUM Houses” with 35 – 35 in dwelling units, have been planned. Hence - all together with the rooms in the castle – 80 rooms and 17 apartments will be formed. The current development also contains the construction of a restaurant-building with more than 200 seats, and a wellness-unit building. The construction-plans needed for the building permit will be issued to the construction permitting authority until the beginning of March, the latest.
